Job Summary
Blowmold Machine Operator employees are responsible for the operation of multiple blow molding machines and vision systems using written work instructions and computer interface. Requires a general understanding of overall manufacturing process and the ability to understand and follow basic good manufacturing practices. Qualified candidates are responsible for starting and maintaining Blowmold Machine Operation with a complete and overall understanding in the assigned area of responsibility.
Reporting Relationship Production Shift Lead
Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Responsible for insuring that all machines within the scope of responsibility are kept running and producing quality bottles while insuring the least amount of down-time possible. This includes communicating problems to on-coming shift personnel.
Responsible for completing all mold changes and set‑ups. Minor maintenance activities are required.
Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean‑up assignments, and adequately maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area of responsibility.
Directly responsible for the proper support to Injection Machine Operators and all other team members to ensure a positive team environment.
Checks and monitors quality on all assigned machines by understanding and recognizing all visual quality defects and how to make appropriate adjustments to correct quality defects.
Maintains all required documentation of quality checks and testing, process checks, downtime, housekeeping and data entry.
Displays a full understanding and working knowledge of all related software and other equipment required for efficient production of quality product.
Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor "No Injuries Safety Contract" and as trained. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co‑workers and Supervisors. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.
Performs other related duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Lead.
Authorization
Those employees with authorized training, have the ability to shut down / stop equipment if continued operation is a threat to any employee's health and safety or for unacceptable quality.
Recommend Staff quarantine out-of-specification products, materials or supplies.
Contact any member of Management without fear of reprisal concerning questions, suggestions, or complaints regarding quality, working conditions or job environment.
Job Specifications and Requirements 1. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous manufacturing work experience is preferred.
2. Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job.
Lift / push / pull up to 1000 pounds 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack (this is the equivalent of a static push / pull of approximately 70 pounds).
Occasional frequency lifting weight of 75 pounds from ground to 4 feet overhead.
Rare frequency carrying weight of 75 pounds for 5 feet.
Employees are required to stand / walk for up to 11 hours per shift on a concrete floor.
Employees must be able to work 12‑hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays.
Employees must be able to work at an elevation of 10 feet or more.
Employees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.
Employees must be able to reach out a maximum of 60 inches at an elevation of at least 10 feet.
3. Required Safety Equipment:
Employees are required to continuously wear hearing and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including steel toe shoes.
4. Environmental Factors:
Continuous noise of 85dB.
Occasional exposure to chemicals.
Occasional exposure to vibration, dust / fumes / gas, confined spaces, humidity.
5. Other Requirements:
Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values. This includes entering information into an on‑line database accurately.
Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgement calls based on the situation at hand.
Proficient hand / eye coordination to operate equipment and assemble packaging for shipment.

Compensation The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $5,000 to $52,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $5,000 to $100,000 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
