What You’ll Do
Attend training regarding applicable equipment
Effectively monitor and inspect equipment for defects
Maintain and repair shop machinery and/or mechanical equipment, including overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters, and welders
Mentor and train other maintenance team members
Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
Perform additional duties as needed
Perform all facets of repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools, and precision tools in various heights or adverse conditions
Perform building maintenance as required
Plan projects, estimating man‑hours and job completion hours
Purchase supplies and parts for repair, tracking purchase requisitions when necessary
Train machine operators on proper equipment use
Work alongside other technicians on job orders and troubleshooting
Maintain good general housekeeping, keeping equipment and work area clean; keep all tools in good working condition
Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, utilizing computer systems and programs for documentation of maintenance/safety activities; enter time, notifications, work orders, and corrective actions/comments
What You’ll Need
Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions, including heat and cold weather
Able and willing to cross‑train as required
Experienced with industrial electrical repairs, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical valves and switches, AC‑DC drives and motors, PLCs, and 480 V 3‑phase electrical
Knowledge of servicing and repairing industrial equipment
Minimum 6 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment
Specific knowledge of both hydraulic and electrical systems and equipment
Welding skills preferred
Both mechanically and electrically inclined with experience in both areas
Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
Strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
Ability to work as a team player in a fast‑paced environment, paying attention to detail and finding root causes for issues
Able to work overtime as business requires
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, and work outside under all weather conditions when needed
Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
Must be able to write job instructional training documents
Your Education
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
