Position Overview A Main Line automotive technician is an expert in auto repair work. Responsibilities include diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing vehicles. Qualified technicians will use technology and tools to perform services quickly and effectively. Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is required, with Nissan certification as a plus.

Strong diagnostic skills to identify repairs efficiently
2+ years of technician experience with in-depth knowledge of engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning systems
Committed to continuous learning through formal training to keep pace with evolving technology
Reliable with a proven work ethic
Team player who follows process-driven practices
Customer-focused, communicating clearly with service team members and customers
What You’ll Do
Perform maintenance and repair orders efficiently, adhering to dealership standards
Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in non-technical terms to service advisors and customers
Continuously update knowledge through formal training sessions
Inspect and test vehicles, record findings to determine necessary repairs
Test‑drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and equipment to evaluate components and systems
Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems such as engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly and effectively with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed of any additional services
Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications
Requirements
Authorized to work in the United States
Minimum age 18 years
Valid Maine Vehicle Inspection license
ASE certification (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence)
Valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check
