About The Role We're seeking an experienced
HVAC Service Technician
to join a well-established commercial and industrial mechanical services team. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and is comfortable working in complex built environments. This role is open to
union members or individuals willing to join the union .
What You'll Do
Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, air handlers, boilers, and associated controls
Support installation and retrofit projects as needed
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and execute repairs
Respond to service calls, including emergency support, with professionalism and urgency
Collaborate with project and service teams to ensure quality and timely completion of work
Complete accurate documentation of service activities, parts usage, and time reporting
Contribute to a strong safety culture by following protocols and reporting hazards
Qualifications
Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician in commercial/industrial environments
EPA certification (Type I/II/III) and relevant technical certifications preferred
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, and HVAC controls
Comfortable with service documentation and basic digital tools
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites in the Madison area
Union affiliation or interest in joining a union is required
