Job Summary
The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic performs repair and preventative maintenance of diesel and gasoline engines, brake systems, fuel systems, ignition and electrical systems, exhaust systems, suspension systems, hydraulic systems and vehicle and body computers. Maintenance and repair are performed on all types of vehicles including cars, vans, trucks, trailers and a variety of mobile tools and construction equipment. The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic will use standard automotive tools, electronic diagnostic equipment, cutting and welding equipment, specialized hydraulic test equipment and will utilize a shop computer to input work orders and time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Services, repairs, and maintains Company vehicles, mounted equipment, and mobile tools in accordance with Federal, State, and corporate practices, procedures, and schedules.
Responsible for conducting and accurately interpreting the results of diagnostic tests performed on the computerized digital systems of the vehicular, mounted equipment, and mobile tool fleet and for taking action to correct or repair the system problems as diagnosed.
Proficiently uses precision tools and test equipment for diagnosing, analyzing, and correcting discrepancies on computerized vehicle, mobile tool, and mounted equipment systems.
Perform maintenance, repair, and servicing on all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of all Company vehicles, mounted equipment, and mobile tools.
Maintain all vehicle, mounted equipment, and mobile tool records and paperwork.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Follow all appropriate laws, environmental and safety procedures and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of five (5) years of mechanical experience.
· Must possess three (3) ASE certifications in either automobile/light truck or medium/heavy truck, or an ability to document equivalency through other training and with appropriate work experience.
· Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License Class A, air brake certified, or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
· Must possess any required state certificates (depending upon state regulations).
· Must be able to follow FMCSA Drug and Alcohol protocols under 49 CFR Part 40, Part 382, and all other Federal, State, and Local regulations. This includes pre‑employment, post‑accident, and random drug/alcohol testing.
· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
· Must complete a pre‑employment drug screening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform simple math.
Must be able to use technology and be computer literate.
Work Authorization

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Able to lift, push, or pull heavy items frequently from 15 to 120 pounds (normally with the aid of a lifting or moving device). Frequently lift, bend, reach, and climb. Able to climb a ladder. Able to stand for long periods of time.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with the majority being performed in a garage. Some exposure to cold, heat, wind, rain, snow, and other weather phenomenon. Exposure to computer screens, cell phones, and other peripheral devices frequently.
