Sportech’s reasonable and good‑faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position $25.00 – $30.00 per hour. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non‑exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Job Summary The Engineering Technician will have a “process improvement and ownership attitude” to provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives. This individual will have input in numerous improvements within the business including support of production assembly.
Ongoing recommendations, support, and implementation of plans for improved safety, quality, delivery and cost
Assist in improving business processes by utilizing continuous improvement tools and methodologies
Work with cross functional teams on completion of department projects
Regularly interacting and providing insight and influence at all levels of the business in leading and encouraging continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Job Functions
Develop, evaluate, and improve business processes utilizing knowledge of lean office/manufacturing tools and methodologies
Access and generate measurement and assessment tools enabling operational and continuous improvement leaders to evaluate potential areas for formal Continuous Improvement efforts
Recommend, support and implement improvements, modifications, or additions that will improve business processes
Propose potential new manufacturing/business technologies, including new equipment or business systems
Assist with mapping business process flow, document inputs and outputs. Identify areas for improvement
Assist in the development, maintenance and monitoring of improvement project plans
Monitor process improvement initiatives to ensure new processes are working as intended
Assist in continuous Improvement events (e.g., kaizen events, A3 projects, major project teams, etc.)
Coach and train team members to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or GED from accredited institution
Must have knowledge of lean concepts/methodologies
Proficiency in use of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts overall department and company performance
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must excel at working in a team environment with a high level of people/interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cross functionally drive results
Ability to use hand tools
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, maintenance and operating instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules
