Position Overview The responsibilities of this position include daily, positive communication with the Indigo team regarding the handling of all tasks presented to team members. Other major responsibilities include operating the web‑based digital printing press according to established procedures, assisting the Pre‑Press Technician with color and image design, maintaining inventory levels of consumables, performing preventive equipment maintenance, reviewing product quality during setup, and maintaining all logs and production output reports. Additional duties include helping management with hiring and training future team members.

Key Responsibilities

Communicate direction regarding the daily schedule.

Positively rise to challenges during each shift.

Answer team member questions and oversee team operations.

Prepare and produce orders on the digital press based on customer specifications and graphic files.

Ensure printed color matches the desired target and collaborate with the Pre‑Press Technician for adjustments.

Perform scheduled maintenance accurately and according to procedure.

Perform adjustments efficiently and accurately.

Monitor the printing process to maintain print quality.

Understand machine capabilities.

Handle consumables properly to maintain process predictability.

Perform routine adjustments as necessary.

Collaborate with team, management, and sales to troubleshoot challenging orders.

Follow the production schedule to meet customer delivery dates.

Prepare paperwork related to orders and projects.

Maintain logs according to procedure.

Monitor supply inventories to ensure product availability.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide timely corrective action response and resolution to relevant project situations.

Engage and support company‑wide Safety and Cleanliness Programs.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

HP Indigo 20000 Level 1 training/certification.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Ability to follow and adjust schedules as needed.

High school or vocational/technical school diploma or certificate.

Additional courses in Print Production or Operations (a plus).

Courses in Chemistry, Electronics, or Color Theory (a plus).

Minimum 7+ years in a job shop or printing environment; experience running web presses is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to self‑check work through quality inspection routines.

Experience with a spectrophotometer is required.

Highly organized and prefers a clean work environment.

Understanding of Color Theory and practice (a plus).

Experience operating mechanical/electromechanical equipment.

Above average computer aptitude.

Basic understanding of pre‑press concepts.

Analytical problem‑solving skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Task‑oriented, collaborative, adaptable attitude.

Accountability and responsible decision‑making.

Conceptual thinking ability.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Must lift up to 20 lbs.

8+ hour day includes:

Sitting in an office chair.

Typing on a computer keyboard.

Reaching for the telephone.

Standing at equipment.

Hearing for phone use.

Sight for computer use.

Must sustain factory work including:

Standing at machinery.

Reaching and pulling to operate machinery.

Sight for machinery operation.

Walking through the shop.

Office environment has moderate noise level.

Shop noise levels require protective ear coverings.
