Commercial HVAC Service Technician Job Description A Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial settings such as offices, retail stores, and other business establishments. They will be working with blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and maintain preexisting HVAC units.

Responsibilities

Regularly inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning properly.

Diagnose and troubleshoot any malfunctions in HVAC systems.

Repair or replace faulty parts in HVAC systems.

Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Ensure HVAC systems are energy efficient and comply with safety and environmental standards.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of experience in HVAC Service (Commercial or Residential).

OSHA 10 Certification.

EPA Certification.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Expertise in repair, service, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Experience with boilers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in HVAC servicing.

Proficient in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Work Environment The company embraces a "hire for attitude, train for skill" philosophy. With 23 employees and plans for growth, it offers a culture of freedom coupled with responsibility. Work is conducted within a 30-mile radius of headquarters in Rochester, NY, with operations typically running from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, including a half-hour lunch. Technicians will be driving to job sites, using ladders, cranes, and various lifts, as well as refrigerants, trade tools, and testing equipment. They will be on-call 24 hours for one week every 5-6 weeks, with a $100 bonus for each on-call week.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
