Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Class B Welder
to join a heavy industrial fabrication team specializing in
ASME Code
equipment. The
Class B Welder
will weld on waste heat recovery units, including firetube boilers, watertube boilers, steam drums, economizers, superheaters, and pressure vessels.
Required Welding Tests
6''Sch 80 – 6G GTAW
(Stringer/Hot Pass)
SMAW Fill + Cap
3G FCAW – 1/2''Plate Test
Key Responsibilities
Perform welding using
FCAW ,
SMAW ,
GTAW , and/or
SAW
Weld in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead
Utilize
carbon arc gouging
and
cutting torch
techniques
Read and interpret
drawings ,
blueprints , and
welding procedures
Weld pressure and non‑pressure components used in ASME fabrication
Work with
carbon steel ,
stainless ,
chrome , and
nickel alloys
Ensure all work meets
ASME Code , company, and client requirements
Pass
X-rays
and additional
NDT testing
requirements
Perform shop labor duties as needed
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Requirements
5+ years of welding experience
in a manufacturing setting (required)
Experience with
Flux Core (FCAW)
and
Stick (SMAW)
Experience with
TIG (GTAW)
and/or
Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
Ability to weld on ASME‑coded equipment
Ability to work overtime as needed
Strong safety record, reliability, and attention to detail
