Location: Covington, LA
Summary: Responds to emergencies and perform related duties as assigned or as become apparent. Performs overall light maintenance duties as assigned. Provides support to any trade as requested by supervisors. Keeps accurate records and reports any equipment malfunctions/problems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver’s License and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver.
Ability to perform duties with minimum disturbance.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds in weight and be able to climb ladders.
Good communication skills and ability to display good judgment.
Physical ability to perform all duties associated with the job.
Ability to understand and utilize the work order process.
Ability to obtain OEHS certification for N-95 and SCBA upon employment per OEHS and OSHA regulation section 1910.134.(g)(1)(i) subtitle 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(A), and 1910.134(g)(1)(:)(B) required; ability to maintain SCBA and N-95 certification required.
Other Important Information About This Position
Must pass a US Department of Justice Security Risk Assessment for access to select biological agents and toxins.
Ability to perform job duties while wearing respiratory protection.
Must participate in drug and alcohol program and be in compliance with TNPRC drug and alcohol policy.
Required Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
3 years of experience in general maintenance.
Compensation Information This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
