General Maintenance Worker II – Tulane University
Responds to emergencies and performs related duties as assigned. Performs overall light maintenance duties and provides support to any trade as requested by supervisors. Keeps accurate records and reports any equipment malfunctions or problems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License; meet Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria for driver authorization.
Ability to perform duties with minimum disturbance.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and climb ladders.
Good communication skills and good judgment.
Physical ability to perform all duties associated with the job.
Ability to understand and utilize the work order process.
Obtain OEHS certification for N‑95 and SCBA upon employment per OEHS and OSHA regulations; maintain certifications.
Additional BSL3 Requirements
Must pass a U.S. Department of Justice Security Risk Assessment for access to select biological agents and toxins.
Ability to perform job duties while wearing respiratory protection.
Must participate in drug and alcohol program and be in compliance with TNPRC policy.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
3 years of experience in general maintenance.
