Base pay range $22.00/hr - $27.00/hr
Night Shift Pay Differential 20% night shift pay differential.
Job Overview Location: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 Shift: Night Shift (20% differential)
ID / OD Grind: Setup and operate grinding machines to produce parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications for aerospace applications. Manual and CNC grinders. Machines used include Heald ID, Toyoda OD manual and CNC, Okamoto CNC ID & OD, and Kellenberger CNC.
Grind Machinist Duties / Responsibilities
Setup & operate to produce high precision aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
Ability to setup and grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. onto surfaces
Complete all required paperwork properly – inspection reports, SPC, job travelers, etc.
Maintain tolerances of .0002” – .0005” while maintaining a high level of productivity
Work independently and stay on task – operate 2 machines regularly
Problem solve and communicate process improvement suggestions with management
Grind Machinist Required Skills / Abilities
Familiarity with Toyoda, Okamoto, and Kellenberger grinders; Heald a plus
Proficient with standard inspection equipment – indicating micrometers, bore gauges, Sunnen gage, & test indicators
Read and interpret B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards
Experience holding tolerances of .0002” – .0005” preferred
Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn
General knowledge of standard shop practices and equipment
Grind Machinist Education / Experience
High School or GED
CNC experience preferred but not required
5+ years ID/OD grinding experience preferred; will train lathe or mill machinist looking to grow in a comprehensive grind department
