Tipp City Schools is seeking a dependable and skilled Transportation Mechanic to support the maintenance and safety of our school bus fleet and district vehicles.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform safety inspections as required by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE)
Diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses and district vehicles
Complete preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
Maintain accurate service and inspection records
Respond to road service calls and occasional after-hours needs
Drive school bus routes when required
Follow district policies and safety procedures
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of fleet or equipment maintenance experience
CDL Class B with school bus and passenger endorsements
Ability to meet all ODE transportation and inspection requirements
Diesel certification and/or technical degree preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 25 pounds
Completion of required annual training
Must remain free of alcohol and non-prescribed controlled substances while at work
