Carpenter – Skilled Location: North Pole, AK

Base Pay Range $70,000.00/yr – $110,000.00/yr

Overview Alyeska Builders is looking to add additional skilled carpenters to our team! We are eager to find team members that are looking to advance their skills and form a career in the construction field. We aim to be the best contractor and employer in Fairbanks, focusing strongly on team culture and helping each crew member achieve their goals both at work and outside of work. Alyeska Builders is a general contractor with several specialty carpenter crews.

Crew Types

Rough structure / framing crew

– handles the shell of our construction projects (exterior framing, roofing, doors, windows, siding). In winter, supports other interior work such as vapor barrier, insulation, finishes. May also assist with flooring, demo scopes for remodels, snow removal, and more.

Finish carpentry crew

– focuses on activities after drywall and painting (flooring installation, cabinetry, interior trim, specialty wood finishes, door installation, some tile work). May assist with other types of work when manpower is needed.

Duties

Use power tools.

Measure and cut materials accurately using tape measure.

Prepare daily job reports for work performed.

Maintain a clean job site and professional appearance.

Be able to lift 50 lbs.

Perform quality control; re‑cut if necessary to deliver outstanding product.

Ensure safety protocols are followed.

Coordinate construction project activities.

Review blueprints or project specifications.

Job Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of construction experience.

Valid driver's license.

Willing and able to pass a drug test.

Employment Requirements All employees must hold a valid OSHA‑10 Construction Safety Certification before starting work. If you do not have this certification, Alyeska Builders will provide an approved OSHA‑10 training course at no cost to you. A current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are also required.

All employees must complete at least one company‑approved training or education course every six months while employed. This is a condition of continued employment.

Schedule Details Our crew works year‑round, and overtime is required. Monday–Friday is standard, but Saturdays are common during peak work loads, especially in the summer season. We observe long holiday weekends, and team members rotate taking time off to enjoy the Alaskan summers.
