Engineering Technician III (20693017) – City of Woodland, California
Join the City of Woodland’s Engineering Department as an Engineering Technician III, a skill‑based, project‑leadership role responsible for advanced field and office engineering work, including public works/engineering projects from design through construction.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting income $6,146.97–$7,845.27 monthly, increasing with experience.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and perform advanced engineering work in one or more functional areas of the City.
Lead public works/engineering projects from design through construction.
Inspect encroachment permit projects, draft conditions of approval, and assist with permit issuance.
Review plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and standards for accuracy and compliance.
Conduct field data collection, testing, and site investigations.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, change orders, progress reports, and as‑built drawings.
Provide technical assistance to other City departments and external stakeholders.
Maintain safety standards and report unsafe conditions promptly.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience comparable to a City Engineering Technician II, or seven (7) years of increasingly complex paraprofessional engineering experience.
High school diploma or equivalent plus at least six months of college coursework in drafting, math, science, or related fields.
Completion of coursework in civil engineering, construction technology, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
Desired certifications in construction management, project management, transportation management, or environmental planning.
Valid California driver’s license required upon hire.
Strong communication skills, customer‑service orientation, and ability to work independently in office and field settings.
Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and engineering standards.
