Key Responsibilities:
Analyze product and equipment specifications to determine designs compatible with existing manufacturing capabilities.
Evaluate feasibility for new equipment designs or modifications based on cost, space, timelines, and technical requirements.
Provide technical information related to manufacturing methods, materials, properties, and process limitations to support long‑range planning.
Collaborate with research teams to resolve design challenges and refine engineering concepts.
Prepare or oversee the creation of detailed product layouts, drawings, schematics, and system designs.
Direct and coordinate the manufacturing or construction of prototype products or systems.
Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to develop performance standards for new or modified products.
Plan, execute, and oversee experimental test programs.
Review test reports and data to determine whether designs meet required performance and functional specifications.
Work with cross‑functional engineering personnel to develop design modifications as needed.
Evaluate engineering test outcomes for potential application to new product development or system enhancements.
Adhere to established standards, procedures, and applicable laws while continuously updating job knowledge.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from a two‑year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in design, fabrication, manufacturing, and customer/supplier relations.
Advanced computer proficiency, including CAD software and Microsoft Office.
CAD and 3D drawing experience are preferred but not required.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical/technical specifications, financial reports, and design documentation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
Confidence presenting technical information to management and administrative personnel.
Strong mathematical abilities, including geometry, trigonometry, and practical application of ratios and percentages.
Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and work with variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule‑based instructions.
Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to multi‑task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, use hands for fine motor tasks, and communicate clearly.
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25+ lbs.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Noise level is typically quiet.
