Summary The Press Brake Operator will use a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate a press brake to manufacture products from sheet metal or metal plates.
Prepare, set up, and adjust press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
Ensure that there are sufficient raw materials available.
Measure and align materials to be used.
Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Skillls/Abilities
Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.
Basic computer and math skills.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically able to operate the press brake.
Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
