Job Output :
Reporting to the Initial Department Supervisor, this position is responsible for editing and loading programs, technical support and the day‑to‑day operation of the plant's CNC machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
As an integrated member of the production team, ensure all work in the area is being performed in a safe manner and in support of the Plant and Company safety rules, policies, standards and expectations.
High attention to detail, accuracy and problem‑solving skills.
Oversee the operation of the machine ensuring safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment for all workers in the area.
Ensure the uploading of any and all programmed jobs, setting up to run the job and operating a CNC machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping production records; labeling manufactured products for shipment or secondary work; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting GD&T.
Capable of using calipers and other precision measuring devices.
Inspect and validate that the base Marshfield raw material meets quality specs before machining into finished product.
Program the CNC by entering instructions, calculating requirements, and proving part programs.
Set‑up the CNC for operations by ensuring proper reference points, tools, and machine devices are in safe position.
Verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to quality standards.
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, and measuring; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
When the CNC is not in use, assist with other job tasks as defined by manager or plant management team.
Perform any other function the supervisor deems necessary.

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment The work environment is a manufacturing setting with occasional hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces, cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes Safety glasses; other PPE is available upon request.
