Role Overview
The role of Welder includes construction of various fabricated parts and assembly from engineered prints by cutting, fitting, and welding.
Responsibilities
Operates welding equipment to fabricate components and assemblies including structural frames, piping, tanks, and ASME pressure vessels.
Read blueprints and drawings to build designed fabrications.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on welding procedures.
Lay out and fit up fabricated components with tight tolerances indicated in drawings/prints using appropriate tools.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead) which may be subjected to non-destructive testing (NDE including but not limited to Xray, PT, MT, UT).
Visually inspect welds and material and repair flaws by cutting, grinding, or air arc.
Maintain equipment in condition that does not compromise safety.
Keep a clean and organized work area.
Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Required.
Certified in GMAW or FCAW ASME IX required. GTAW ASME IX preferred.
1 or more years of experience in MIG or Flux Core Welding. TIG experience a plus
1 or more years of experience using tools relevant to welding and fabrication (saws, squares, grinders, torches, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. This includes welding symbols and fabrication instructions on blueprints.
Able to read a tape measure and utilize math skills required for fabrication.
Ability to effectively communicate [written and verbal].
Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Detailed oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.
Physical requirements: Lift/push/pull 50 lbs., bend twist, stand for extended periods of time. Climb and reach for items, use an overhead crane, forklift, and endure frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
