Job Summary
Responsible for cutting, joining, welding mild or stainless‑steel components utilizing different welding process & procedure per specifications.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Participate in all Safety Meeting
Ability to pass API-1104 and ASME B31.3 through B31.8 Weld test.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Follow and initiate 5S standards maintaining safe and clean work area.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications.
Layout, design and fabricate metal parts using numerous different tools, equipment, and techniques.
Welding, cutting, fitting, bending, and assembling of metal parts.
Weld Components using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety or quality.
Complete pre‑operation equipment inspections and reports
All other duties assigned.
Experience, Education, & License Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
1 to 2 years proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment. Meet all Pipe Welder I Requirements and Skills.
Skills & Abilities
Must be able to observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust speed, voltage, amperage accordingly.
Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans.
Minimum 4-5 years’ experience required.
Perform code (ASME, AWS, or API) compliant welds using GMAW, GTAW, SAW & FCAW process.
Proper use knowledge of hand tools, (Grinders, Drills, Air tools, etc.),
Must be able to weld qualification test coupon for;
o FCAW and/or GMAW welding process in the 3G & 4G position using Carbon Steel plate.
o GTAW and SAW welding processes in the 6G position with Carbon and/or Stainless‑Steel pipe
Must be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.
Some Fit‑up & layout experience on structural/misc. steel and pipe spools.
Familiarity with weld inspections and related NDE (RT, UT, MT, PT)
Pipe welding experience with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API 1104 codes.
Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work a varied schedule with flexible hours. Ability to work independently.
