Shift Overview
Shift times and overtime hours vary dependent on position, department, and location.
1st shift: Monday - Thursday, four 10 hour days, overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
What You’ll Do As an Electrician I, you’ll be a key part of building airport rescue & firefighting (ARFF) trucks. Your role is to assemble, route, and install electrical systems that bring these specialized vehicles to life. You’ll use a variety of tools, follow blueprints and instructions, and work alongside a supportive team to ensure safety and quality at every step.
Essential Functions
Assemble, install, route, and wire electrical components and systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and schedules.
Work with wires, harnesses, and cables.
Use hand and power tools such as crimpers, wire cutters, strippers, drills, and electric drivers.
Drill, organize, and prepare parts for assembly.
Assist teammates with lifting and moving parts and equipment.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Communicate clearly with co-workers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Be flexible with overtime and maintain excellent attendance.
Operate a forklift or carts to transport equipment and parts.
Use computers to track and locate parts.
Support inventory tracking.
Basic Qualifications
Some electro-mechanical knowledge or hands-on electrical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Automotive Mechanics, Electro-Mechanical, or related field.
Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or operations.
Prior experience at Pierce or in vehicle/equipment assembly.
Key Skills & Abilities
Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and strong communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions, problem-solve, and adapt to changing tasks.
Comfortable in a manufacturing setting with tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
Physical ability to lift up to 35lbs, stand/walk on slippery or uneven surfaces, and climb ladders or trucks.
Visual and color recognition skills for wiring and component identification.
