Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will perform duties typical of HVAC controls mechanics, including repair, testing, and installation of HVAC equipment, and will maintain system efficiency and safety throughout the facility.
Job Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Repair, test, replace, and install HVAC equipment using hand tools and testing instruments. Install and service pneumatic controls, balanced systems, and conventional mechanical air conditioning equipment, including heating, ventilation, exhaust, and chilled water systems. Estimate material needs and record consumables per work order.
Conduct troubleshooting to locate malfunctions, remove and replace faulty parts and subassemblies, and adjust components for optimal performance. Provide guidance on trade techniques when working with a helper, and interpret mechanical symbols and drawings.
Maintain peak efficiency by coordinating with management, clients, other shops, foremen, contractors, and outside vendors. Keep an overall knowledge of facility operations and report status to management.
Ensure safety and proper equipment use in accordance with departmental and NYU procedures. Assist with repairs and notify management if equipment is damaged or requires repair. Perform routine rounds and implement corrective action when necessary.
Record materials and time for daily operations and scheduled projects. Recommend ordering of parts and supplies required for maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
Minimum of five years of experience in the HVAC field (four years for school graduates).
Trade or vocational skills required.
Preferred Qualifications None.

Salary Transparency The salary range for this role is $104,439.45 – $104,439.45 annually, in compliance with New York State law. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. The range excludes bonuses, differential pay and other compensation or benefits.
