Skilled Shop Carpenter
to join our team in Norfolk. The position requires creating custom millwork pieces using architectural and in‑house shop drawings in a fully equipped workshop. Candidates must bring their own basic tools such as a tape measure and cordless drill, and will work in a shop environment with dedicated workspace and bench.
Our company is an architectural woodwork and casework firm specializing in commercial projects, handling a full range of millwork products as well as stones, resins, and miscellaneous metals.
Work hours are 7:00 – 4:30 am Monday‑Thursday and 7:00 – 11:00 am Friday. Overtime involves a 7:00 – 3:30 schedule on Fridays and Saturdays on a rotating basis. The role offers opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
Creating custom millwork pieces based upon architectural and in‑house shop drawings
Products can range from cabinetry, paneling, desks, planters, benches, or display cases.
Each job is custom. Rarely do we build the same thing twice.
Coordinating with shop foreman and project manager to effectively complete each project.
Qualifications
Experience with woodworking machinery: wood planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, bandsaw.
Must provide a tape measure and cordless drill.
Appropriate safety gear: work boots with steel toe at all times; one pair of jeans for job‑site trips.
Pay: $28.00–$32.00 per hour (Virginia Beach, VA).
