Ascendo Resources is working with a well‑established, full‑service law firm client that is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to support attorneys within its Commercial Real Estate practice in Charleston, SC.
This full‑time role offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative legal environment while providing essential administrative and practice support to a dynamic legal team.
Responsibilities
Enter and manage attorney time and assist with billing processes
Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence and legal documents for clients, courts, and outside counsel
Handle multi‑state and federal filings, including electronic filing
Maintain docketing systems and monitor deadlines
Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and travel arrangements
Support discovery efforts, including document production
Provide administrative assistance to the Trusts & Estates team, including preparing powers of attorney, deeds, probate filings, and related documents
Perform additional practice support tasks as needed
Qualifications
1–2+ years of experience in a legal administrative or practice assistant role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong typing and proofreading skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to changing priorities
High school diploma or equivalent required; four‑year degree preferred
Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate and/or Trusts & Estates is a plus
