Position Summary The District Attorney’s Office seeks a Paralegal to provide specialized legal support in a fast‑paced, high‑profile criminal work environment. The role supports felony cases, assists with case preparation, legal research, discovery, and trial support, and works closely with attorneys, law enforcement, court staff, and the public.
Responsibilities
Manage comprehensive case files, review, and organize discovery materials.
Draft legal documents—including subpoenas, notices, stipulations, post‑hearing orders, and trial documents.
Coordinate transcripts, evidence organization, and trial support for attorneys.
Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, law‑enforcement databases, and court documents.
Attend court hearings and obtain required materials for trial.
Provide backup support for specialty roles and intake functions.
Maintain case management within a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Paralegal from an ABA‑approved program.
Recent experience with criminal court procedures and paralegal work.
Valid driver’s license and a driving record that satisfies County standards.
Strong knowledge of laws, statutes, regulations, legal terminology, and research techniques.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant legal databases.
Physical Requirements Low physical requirements: prolonged sitting, limited walking, minor lifting.
Compensation Hourly rate: $27.61 plus Marathon County Benefits.
