Position Purpose The

Combination Welding Instructor

is accountable for ensuring students receive quality education through effective in‑class instruction, hands‑on training, and up‑to‑date learning materials and resources.

Job Responsibilities

Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning.

Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling.

Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.

Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab.

Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures.

Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention.

Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school.

Complete performance‑based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management, as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student‑completed surveys.

Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly.

Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program.

Attend and/or conduct in‑service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.

Alert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences.

Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Pass 3G and 4G weld tests in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux‑Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) at interview.

Successfully complete a 3/8” single bevel groove plate test with backing in both the 3G and 4G positions; welds must pass visual inspection before a bend test.

American Welding Society (AWS) certification (the testing/certification is provided by TTT).

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum three (3) years of hands‑on practical, related work experience in welding.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven, compliance‑oriented educational environment.

Detail‑oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to multi‑task and work well under pressure.

Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.

Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.

Highly motivated and goal‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving skills.

Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.

Exhibits a positive, team‑oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred experience, certifications, or skills that would further enhance an applicant’s fit for this role.

Work Schedule Please note that the final schedule is determined by the needs of the campus.

Full‑Time (FT) Day Shift

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)

Full‑Time (FT) Evening Shift

Monday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)
