Bender Operator - Wayland/2nd shift

Bends metal tubing according to specifications for use in hydraulic, exhaust, intake and coolant installations.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay commensurate with experience
2nd shift position – shift premium $1.50/hr
Work week: Mon‑Fri, 2 pm to 10 pm
Overtime available during the week, Sat, and some Sun
$1,000 sign‑on bonus
PTO upon hire; benefits after 30 days
Responsibilities
Bends tubing on a bending machine manually to conform to customer specifications.
Checks part against CAD plot or fixture.
Ability to make minor program changes.
Qualifications High school education or equivalent preferred. Must possess some mechanical aptitude.
Language and Communication
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Math and Reasoning
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, electrical shock and vibration risks. Noise level is usually very loud.
Physical Demands The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, possibly up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly stand, use hands, reach, talk or hear, climb or balance, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
