About The Job We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our Distribution Center in Norcross, GA. This position will perform a wide variety of maintenance activities related to automated assembly equipment, machinery, and systems that directly support production operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee work of assigned maintenance team employees

Assist with the planning and preparation of training for new maintenance team members

Lead and coordinate workplace safety initiatives for the facility

Troubleshoot, diagnose, assemble, repair and maintain equipment, machinery and systems related to both automated and manual production equipment typically found in Retail Distribution Centers and Dry‑Cleaning operations

Perform hands‑on major and minor repairs and maintenance of material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, rolling racks, automated and mechanical conveyors, slick rail, loading dock systems, compressors, electrical and lighting panels, and other related plant equipment

Coordinate and participate in preventative (PM), predictive and corrective maintenance activities on machinery and equipment in the distribution center

Communicate with manufacturers and supply vendors, and coordinate the ordering of parts, supplies, and tools

Operate and use manual tools and powered‑shop machinery and tools to maintain a wide variety of automated and manual equipment and machinery for proper functionality

Repair and maintain material handling equipment and possess knowledge of mechanical operations for motor‑driven equipment

Identify and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using necessary tools and standard practices to correct and solve maintenance problems

Maintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies inventories in the maintenance shop

Continually maintain a safe working operation

Interact with and perform effectively in a high‑volume team environment while maintaining a positive relationship with management and department staff

Support and assist in maintaining and improving the maintenance department as needed

Perform other related activities as assigned and needed

Work Environment / Physical & Mental Demands

Must have “hands‑on” maintenance experience

Strong mechanical background and equipment troubleshooting experience

Technical, vocational or trade school education is a plus

Demonstrated mechanical skills and technical aptitude

Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (PM) experience preferred

Familiarity with various hand and electric tools

Ability to troubleshoot electrical components and circuitry

Ability to prioritize and organize work‑related tasks and special projects

Must possess good communication skills

Must be able to speak, read, and understand English for purposes of performing necessary job duties

Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Detail‑oriented and ability to meet deadlines

Problem solving and analytical skills required

Ability to work safely by following all maintenance department’s standard operating procedures

Flexibility and dependability are required and must be willing to work overtime, off‑shift, weekends, and holidays to support production needs

Ability to work alone and in a team environment

Ability to work in a production warehouse environment with exposure to various climate conditions (warm, cold, heat) and under stressful conditions such as small and high spaces with the following repetitive physical demands: continuous standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more

Salary The starting hourly rate for this position is $26.25 - $34.97 – and may increase to $43.70 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
