Work Schedule:
Shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Pay:
$23.05 to $25.36 hourly, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Open until filled.
Performs entry-level crafts and trades work participating in the daily operation, maintenance, and housekeeping typical of water treatment facilities.
Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent.
One (1) year of experience assisting with or performing mechanical repair and routine maintenance on equipment, machinery, or mechanical systems in an industrial, utility, automotive, or similar setting.
College or technical coursework related to science or treatment plant operations preferred.
Valid Florida driver's license, maintained during employment.
Obtain Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Class C Drinking Water Operator's license within 12 months of employment.
May be required to complete OSHA-compliant forklift operator training and operate a forklift.
Physically capable of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include respiratory protection.
Able to work planned and unplanned overtime, standby, on-call duties, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required to perform emergency duties as directed in the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man‑made disaster that may threaten the area.
Special Requirements
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
Must obtain within 12 months of employment, the FDEP Class C Drinking Water Operator's license.
May be required, depending on area of assignment, to successfully complete an OSHA-compliant forklift operator training course which meets the requirements of CFR 1910.178 and be able to operate a forklift.
Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required PPE, which may include respiratory protection.
Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime and standby and on-call duties on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man‑made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
