Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate competency in all areas of computerized tomography (CT), positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors associated with CT systems.
Know how to use all other equipment used in CT scans such as power injectors, stereotactic biopsy equipment, biopsy and drainage needles and devices, and any other devices/equipment used in CT.
Use the Radiology Imaging System and Meditech for scheduling exams, patient tracking, image tracking, proper completion of exams and capture of charges.
Provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Follow safety policies and procedures, recognize impending crisis situations, institute measures to prevent complications, and report to supervisors.
Maintain cleanliness and inventory of CT rooms, including equipment and facilities; perform disinfection techniques, restock supplies, and clean carts/work area after each shift.
Complete assignments independently and work as part of a team, exercise problem‑solving skills, and interact with co‑workers, supervisors, patients, vendors, and the public in a professional manner.
Additional Responsibilities
Access radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents, and other non‑controlled medications as appropriate.
Witness waste and/or inventory controlled substances with another authorized individual.
Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities.
Learn and comply with system and facility safety policies, use appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Adhere to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrate ethical behavior as expected by patients, colleagues and the community.
Complete duties assigned, including cross‑training in other functions or positions for flexible staffing.
Facilitate Radiology Department Dosewatch monitoring and implement changes to comply with accrediting agencies and hospital goals.
Integrate current scientific knowledge and technology into work practices, orient and train new employees and students, and complete annual competency checklists.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Registered Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer (RT).
Associate Degree.
Certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT‑CT) or Radiography (ARRT‑R).
Methodist ER Nacogdoches serves the Northeast and surrounding area. This 5,808 square‑foot, 24/7 freestanding emergency center features seven private treatment rooms and a full range of services such as radiology, a full‑service laboratory and telemetry. We provide immediate intervention for emergencies and offer 24‑hour monitoring and testing of patients, such as chest pain cases. Our compassionate team stabilizes critical patients and transports them, if needed, to a Methodist hospital in San Antonio.
