Welder
Systems, LLC, an affiliate of Chamberlain Group, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of loading dock equipment marketed under the Poweramp, DLM, and McGuire brands. With manufacturing facilities in Germantown, Wisconsin and Malvern, Arkansas, all products are designed and produced in the USA using lean manufacturing techniques. This role is within Systems' Manufacturing and Production group.
Associate II, Welder Overview
Weld and assemble different pieces by using hand held welding equipment such as hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures; utilize different materials (plate steel, sheet steel, structural steel, and tubing)
Prepare and complete work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal
Test and inspect welded components to ensure they meet set specifications before moving to the next department
Work from different specifications and shop orders
Utilize ruler, square, templates, and gauges to take and read measurements
Operate cranes, hoists, and lift tables
Report damages on machines and equipment; maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Report all unsafe conditions to management
Monitor/control the robotic welding process
Operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding tasks
Perform visual inspection of weld quality
Program robotic welding systems
Provide work reports/feedback to supervisors or engineering teams
Set up/prepare robotic welding equipment for operation
Troubleshoot/resolve and recover from potential technical issues that may arise
Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
Protect Chamberlain Group’s and Systems’ reputation by keeping information confidential.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Associate II, Welder Qualifications
No minimum education required
1+ year of robotic welding experience required
Basic knowledge of MIG welding, handheld plasma machines and cutting torches using cutting steel, acetylene and other cutting methods
Basic knowledge of welding techniques, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications: Recognized robotic welding certification, Prior experience with solid core wires and argon/oxygen welding gasses, Prior experience MIG welding of structural steel and plate, 3-5 years experience loading, operating and welding in a robotic welding environment
Compensation: $21.50/hr (base pay varies by location, education, training, and experience). Benefits include a comprehensive package and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility). The position is eligible for a short‑term incentive plan.
