Under general supervision of the Coordinator/Manager/Director cleans, inspects, assembles, packages, disinfects, and sterilizes all surgical products used to support physicians and surgical teams in inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency, delivery, and satellite locations. Documents and monitors all sterilization processes—including steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high‑level disinfectants—to ensure compliance with standards. Supplies the needs of various departments by meeting and anticipating instrumentation requirements for pending cases, assembling procedure‑specific case carts. Receives, unpacks, shelves supplies, and stocks while maintaining appropriate par levels with rotation sterile supply management principles. Works with surgical specialty teams to ensure supplies for each patient are available when needed, proactively coordinating case cart preparation according to the surgeon's preference card for supplies, equipment, instruments, and implants. Education and Experience Required
High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a medical terminology course preferred. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and hospital personnel. Computer skills. Successfully complete the 120‑day orientation, including department and hospital orientation processes, and maintain competence during the evaluation year with department standards, objectives, in‑service, and continuing education. Certifications/Licensure Required
Central Service Certification. BCLS preferred. Additional Information
