Quality Lab Technician – Controls
and help ensure the electrical, mechanical, audio, and environmental integrity of current and new product designs.
Responsibilities
Maintain test-related military, agency, and laboratory documentation in the Lab Database.
Prepare informal and formal test reports.
Perform prototype, existing, and competitor product testing.
Evaluate test results and determine product conformance.
Assist in the assembly, procurement, and implementation of test equipment.
Set up test equipment and products in proper sequence.
Conduct tests for criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions.
Assist laboratory personnel in daily operations.
Participate in the OTTO Internal Audit program.
Participate in the OTTO metrology program for quality/production equipment.
Provide support and advise staff.
Develop policies and procedures to continuously improve OTTO’s quality systems.
Participate in maintaining OTTO’s ISO 9000 registration.
Demonstrate testing competence per ISO 17025 accreditation requirements.
Assist with other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years formal training or extensive practical experience.
Ability to participate in ASQ CQT training program.
Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours.
Computer literate to a basic level in Microsoft Office applications.
Lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
Project management experience is essential.
Experience with DMM, oscilloscope, environmental chambers, Instron materials testing, and vibration testing equipment preferred.
Knowledge of pneumatic and electromechanical setups is a plus.
Self‑motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.
Fast‑paced, detail‑oriented work environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills; pleasant telephone manner.
Color differentiation ability.
Excellent figure aptitude.
Basic knowledge of SPC techniques.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Working knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100, ISO14001, ISO 17025, and SPC techniques.
Able to use both mechanical and electrical measurement devices.
Basic electrical techniques, theories, and electrical schematic reading.
Benefits Overview
Target base salary: $40,000 – $50,000 per year (based on qualifications and experience).
Profit‑sharing bonus distributed twice a year (not guaranteed).
Vacation: 80 hours earned on the anniversary date.
