We are seeking an Estimator Staff (Level 2) to join our team. This role supports senior estimators in preparing cost estimates for bids and proposals across electrical and low‑voltage applications, including fire alarm systems, security systems, communication systems, paging systems, audio‑visual systems, and nurse‑call systems.
Responsibilities
Assist in gathering data and preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.
Perform take‑offs from drawings, price change orders, and conduct site visits to assess constructability.
Review plans and specifications to identify required materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Apply cost fundamentals and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date pricing information from suppliers and contractors.
Prepare bid packages and obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
Demonstrate familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and contract documents (drawings, subcontracts, addenda).
Apply design techniques, tools, and principles in producing electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
Develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work effectively.
Deliver high‑quality work while collaborating with others to achieve common objectives.
Successfully pass a background check.
Working knowledge of Accubid and BIM is a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) with 2+ years of experience, OR
Associate’s Degree
with 6+ years of experience, OR
High school diploma/GED
with 8+ years of experience.
Abilities
Work with computer screens for extended periods.
Sit for extended periods.
Reach and extend arms/hands in various directions.
Use finger dexterity for tasks such as typing.
Listen and comprehend spoken information.
Communicate clearly and effectively in speech.
Read and understand written information.
Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical solutions.
Recognize and understand speech from others.
