Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions and specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.

Education

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferred: Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology.

License, certification and/or registration MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (e.g. ASCP or AMT) preferred.

Experience Previous work experience strongly preferred.

Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑service oriented environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

Maintain absolute confidentiality in handling patient information.

Able to work in a high‑stress environment with little or no downtime.

Work in a team setting and maintain absolute confidentiality.

Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process.

Position may require flexibility related to shift end time, which may vary with workload.
