Central Processing Technician 1- Lab- PT- 2nd Shift
Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer. Education:
High School diploma or GED required. Education preferred:
Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology. License, certification and/or registration:
MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e., ASCP or AMT) preferred. Experience:
Previous work experience strongly preferred. Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑service oriented environment. Must prioritize, change tasks quickly, and maintain confidentiality in handling patient information. Able to work in high‑stress conditions with minimal downtime. Requires team collaboration, absolute integrity, and accuracy in patient identification. Position may require flexibility related to shift end time due to variable workload.
