What You'll Be Doing As a Landscape Construction Foreman
Effectively delegate tasks to crew members, ensuring the proper use of tools and equipment for each project
Recruit, train, and onboard new crew members, fostering a culture of growth and skill development within the team
Regularly assess progress on landscape projects, providing recommendations to optimize efficiency and quality
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
Lead the completion of landscape design and construction projects, bringing creative visions to life with precision
Oversee the maintenance of lawns and gardens, including proper application and monitoring of pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals
Perform regular inventory checks, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use
Prepare and maintain accurate spreadsheets, reports, and other documentation related to project status, materials, and crew performance
Provide clear and accurate estimates for costs, materials, equipment needs, and timelines to ensure successful project execution
Plan and schedule training sessions to continually develop team skills and enhance overall performance
Monitor project budgets, adjusting plans to stay within cost projections while maintaining quality standards
Coordinate with clients and other departments to ensure seamless communication and timely completion of all projects
Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhancing team productivity and satisfaction
What You'll Bring to the Table as a Landscape Construction Foreman
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required; CDL preferred for larger equipment operation
Strong knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment, with hands‑on experience in their use and maintenance
Previous leadership experience is highly advantageous, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to success
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear instructions and maintain strong team coordination
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently while ensuring high standards of quality
Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing situations
Commitment to safety, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols and guidelines
Organizational skills to manage project timelines, materials, and team schedules effectively
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
A proactive, solutions‑oriented approach with a passion for delivering exceptional results
Strong customer service mindset, with a focus on maintaining client satisfaction and exceeding expectations
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, including tools, equipment, and materials for landscaping projects.
Stamina to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and lift throughout the day while managing various landscape construction tasks.
Ability to operate landscaping machinery and heavy equipment, including but not limited to mowers, excavators, and backhoes.
Physical capability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
Ability to work on uneven terrain and in challenging environments such as construction sites and outdoor landscaping areas.
Comfort with long hours of physically demanding tasks, including digging, planting, and moving materials.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools, requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
Capacity to lead and supervise team members effectively on‑site, ensuring safety and productivity throughout the day.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights for tasks such as installing structures or landscape features.
