What You Will Do The Technician II is an exciting and dynamic position that will appeal to a creative, resourceful, high‑energy, and organized person who thrives in service‑oriented and customer‑facing situations. The Technician II is a vital member of the Easy Ice service team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of ice machines through proficient installation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal Technician II is results‑oriented, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and possesses a strong work ethic that inspires collaboration and excellence among colleagues. The Technician II will focus on maximizing equipment lifespan, minimizing service calls and emergency ice purchases, and ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional service that fosters positive relationships with customers, ensuring they are consistently satisfied with both the quality of service and the performance of their ice machines

Perform thorough installation, repair, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ice machines to improve performance and longevity, thereby reducing the frequency of service calls and emergency ice purchases

Lead the installation process as required, driving excellence by exceeding customer expectations with accurate, timely, and efficient installation of equipment

Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues on the first visit, minimizing downtime for customers and enhancing their overall experience

Achieve or exceed performance metrics related to service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback, demonstrating accountability and commitment to excellence

How You Will Do It

Progress from Technician I: All levels are responsible for installation, cleaning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ice machine equipment as required, including bagging or delivering ice and other duties as assigned

Install, clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and install equipment, with the goal to increase equipment life and reliability, reduce service calls, and reduce emergency ice purchases

Provide service and customer support during field visits with a strong emphasis on building positive relationships with customers

Train and mentor less senior technicians as required

Manage on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks

Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions

Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure all work orders and assignments are completed on time and per Easy Ice standard operating procedures

Accurately document all actions performed during service visits by taking required photos, completing forms, reports, logs, and maintaining clear records of maintenance activities

Ensure proper truck stock at all times, avoiding unnecessary return trips and delays in customer service

Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service for customers

Facilitate the processing of accurate payments from customers and assist in the proper shutdown or removal of equipment when necessary

Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop when applicable by adhering to all safety protocols and cleanliness standards

Ensure vehicle cleanliness and organization, removing all ice and trash at the end of each shift to improve safety and to uphold a professional appearance

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); vocational or technical training preferred

Experience

1+ year experience in the diagnosis and repair of commercial equipment (prior experience with refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related equipment)

EPA 2 certification

Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications

Experience and the ability to demonstrate volt meter operations

Ability to work a full‑time schedule which includes a rotating on‑call schedule

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members

Problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing repair and maintenance issues

Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure service calls are completed in a timely manner

Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities

Demonstrated track record of delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

EPA 2 certification

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, use ladders, use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel surfaces, parts, and tools, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Stands for extended periods of time (6+ hours per day)

While the noise level in the work environment is usually somewhat quiet, the worker may be subject to elevated noise levels

Drive a vehicle for up to 60 percent of the hours worked

Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
