The Technician III is an exciting and dynamic position that will appeal to a creative, resourceful, high-energy, and organized person who thrives in service-oriented and customer-facing situations. You will play a vital role on the Easy Ice service team, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of ice machines through proficient cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation. Key responsibilities include: Providing outstanding service and support during on-site visits Forging positive relationships with customers Managing installation and repair tasks Accurately diagnosing and resolving technical issues Training and supporting less experienced technicians Completing detailed service reports Maintaining adequate truck stock and supplies Keeping company vehicles in good condition Upholding the Easy Ice brand image with professionalism and positive engagement Key Outcomes
Deliver exceptional service that fosters positive relationships with customers, ensuring consistent satisfaction with service quality and machine performance. Perform thorough repair, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting to improve machine performance and longevity, reducing the frequency of service calls and emergency ice purchases. Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues on the first visit, minimizing downtime for customers. Achieve or exceed performance metrics related to service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback. Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules and adapt to changing operational demands while pursuing personal and professional growth. How You Will Do It
Perform cleaning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of Easy Ice equipment to extend equipment life and reliability. Diagnose machine performance problems or system errors down to the component level. Replace compressors, expansion valves, and other refrigeration components. Manage on-site, remote, and standard installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. Train and mentor less senior technicians. Maintain strong customer relationships and effective communication with coworkers. Document all actions performed during service visits with photos, reports, logs, and clear records. Ensure proper truck stock and manage ice pickup and delivery. Process payments, shut down or remove equipment as necessary, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Keep vehicle clean and professional at all times. What We Are Looking For
Education
High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training preferred. Experience
5+ years diagnosing and repairing commercial equipment (refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, or ice machines). EPA 2 Certification. Proficiency in hot-work safety, torch soldering, refrigeration diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, and installation of all ice machine brands. Adept at training and mentoring less experienced technicians. Strong customer service and de-escalation skills. Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively. Experience with mobile tools and applications; voltage meter operations. Full-time schedule including rotating on-call shifts. Strong communication skills with customers and team members. Time-management and prioritization to meet service call deadlines. Skillful record-keeping of service activities. Track record of delivering high-level customer satisfaction. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
EPA 2 or Universal Certification. Additional Required Attributes
High energy, positive attitude, and strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and service protocols. Strong work ethic and dedication to continuous improvement. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Stand, walk, sit, use ladders and tools; reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasional lifting/moving up to 75 lbs. Stand for extended periods (6+ hours). Noise can reach elevated levels.
