Responsibilities
Promote a safety culture and awareness within the area. Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
Check work orders, properly select processed material and check for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
Operate forklift to bring material to the production floor or shipping department.
Follow packaging instructions.
Operate simple hand tools and machines (automatic bander, core cutting machine, shrink wrapper, nail gun, circular saw).
Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation.
Group completed coils together by work order in designated area.
Maintain the work area cleanly and neatly.
Opportunity for advancement into production.
Prepare metal coils by trimming coils to fit widths specified by customers. Operator conducts a final check of coil specifications.
Properly identify all edged material by alloy, size, melt, weight, edge, and complete all documentation.
