Mechanical Technician B
Position Objective: This position is responsible for lubrication, preventative maintenance, and repair of all equipment. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Technical school or Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or 3 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance required
Have a strong background in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as machining experience is required
Basic computer knowledge
Safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes is required on some or all jobs
Must have good communication skill
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able and willing to work overtime on an as needed basis. Must be willing to be on-call and work some nights and weekends that are required
Electrical background is a plus, but not required
The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
Job Responsibilities
Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipment
Lubrication and preventative maintenance (PM) of mechanical equipment
Assists Electronic technician in electrical and electronic duties
Able to perform welding, machining, and millwright duties
Identify parts and assist Parts Coordinator in the requisition and inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment
Assembles, and installs new mechanical equipment, enters work orders in the Maintenance Management System; able to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Maintain all equipment in good running order, perform route checks and report deficiencies.
Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards, follow GMP practices.
Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follow LOTO practices.
Basic use of hand and power tools.
Basic knowledge of plant utility systems.
Works with minimal supervision.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly PM assignments.
Has working knowledge of spare parts system.
Works safely.
Basic knowledge of rigging and lifting techniques.
Basic maintenance skills including machining, welding, pipefitting and fabrication.
Maintains a forklift license.
Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Follows all safety procedures including LOTO, confined space, proper lifting, etc

Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
