Position Summary

The Production Welder is under supervision performing routine welding and fitting tasks that meet company and departmental objectives. Ensures the maintenance of a safe work environment with an ultimate goal of zero accidents. Day shift position 6am–2:30pm, Monday‑Friday, with voluntary hours over forty. Afternoon shifts 12–8:30pm. Must have two years of welding experience or a formal education program in welding. Training provided on aluminum welding.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations in the production of aluminum/stainless heat exchangers.

Manufactures and assembles metal fabrications, ferrous and non‑ferrous using appropriate equipment and processes.

Manufactures and assembles fabricated and mechanical components, structures and vessels from drawings.

Maintains a consistent standard of work and performance in compliance with regulatory and Quality Assurance standards.

Ensures the performance of work and the maintenance of work environment that meets safety goal objectives.

Assists in the development and implementation of product improvement initiatives and identifies where improvements in function, efficiency and quality can be achieved.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.

Education High school diploma or GED. Refer to years of experience for additional qualifications with no experience in welding.

Years of Experience 0–2 years of experience. Two years of work experience or 0 years with completion of a certificate/degree from a technical college or completion of a welding apprenticeship program, or other equivalent programs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of welding techniques.

Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and weld prints.

Strong knowledge of basic math.

Ability to recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluate and select solutions from established options.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Typical Mental and Physical Demands

Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach for extended periods of time.

Ability to hear or talk to effectively communicate with delivery personnel and internal customers.

Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.

Ability to perform rapid repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time.

Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.
