Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

Powersports Mechanic

to join our service and parts department. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of recreational vehicles. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent organizational abilities, and a customer-focused approach to every interaction.

A background in powersports is essential, with strong preference given to candidates who have experience working with

BRP product lines, Ski‑Doo, Honda, and Arctic Cat

products.

Responsibilities Diagnostic and Repair Duties

Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment.

Conduct routine maintenance and preventive services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.

Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify malfunctions.

Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.

Test‑drive vehicles after repairs to ensure they are functioning properly.

Customer Service

Communicate with customers to understand the nature of the issue and provide explanations about the diagnosis and repair process.

Work with Service Writers to prepare detailed cost estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain customer approval before starting work.

Explain post‑repair vehicle conditions and answer customer questions regarding maintenance and operation.

Record‑Keeping and Documentation

Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.

Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks for warranties or customer files.

Shop Maintenance and Safety

Keep tools, equipment, and the shop area clean, organized, and well‑maintained.

Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace regulations.

Collaboration and Training

Collaborate with other technicians and staff to complete complex repairs efficiently.

Stay updated on the latest industry developments, vehicle technology, and diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications / Skills

Strong understanding of small engine mechanics and repair.

Proficient in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and basic hand tools.

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Prior experience in customer service and mechanical repair (preferred).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment, including overtime when necessary.
