Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team. This position will be responsible for metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, carpet, furniture installation, painting, and raised floor installation. Must be able to read and interpret building plans/blueprints for large and complex structures. Cut, shape, and smooth the surface of materials using power saws and sanders.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform general carpentry services, including framing, drywall, paneling, cabinetry, and trim work.
Support office renovations and maintenance of building core and shell structures.
Construct and install minor cabinetry and custom carpentry projects such as display framing for plaques and awards.
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing facility issues such as loose carpet tiles, floor tiles, and damaged desks or office furniture.
Perform minor waterproofing and glass maintenance, including replacing broken glass and addressing seal leaks.
Conduct routine inspections of facility components to identify and address needed repairs or maintenance.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in a clean and organized condition.
Basic Qualifications
Must be able to go through the clearance process and obtain a TS/SCI with a poly clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
5–7 years of experience in carpentry or general maintenance fields.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience with all facets of carpentry tasks, high lift work.
Knowledge of shaft wall framing and metal stud framing.
Experienced and able to use hand tools and power tools.
Work and maintain knowledge of various construction materials among which include wood, fiberglass, steel, and concrete.
Have a good understanding and ability to follow EHS practices across responsible work areas.
Capable of delivering great customer service.
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 35 lbs.
Ability to climb and work off ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instructions.
Ability to create a material list from blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instructions.
Ability to lead a construction project from start to finish.
Ability to train new and younger employees in carpentry.
Well organized and able to multitask.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
