RATP Dev maintains a fleet of buses, which includes 35-ft. CumminsISL engines, Alison B4000, Ford E450, 25-ft Cutaways, Triton V-10 gasolineengine. Under general supervision, the prospective candidate will strictlyfollow the maintenance manager’s directives and performs a variety ofjourney-level diesel mechanic and related mass transit vehiclemaintenance/repair works, inspections, maintenance and electrical repairs,ranging from minor to major. The new hire will be placed in “A,” or “B,” classificationbased on experience and aptitude. “B” mechanics, under supervision andtraining will have opportunities for advancement to “A” mechanic.
The maintenance manager sets the work schedule for thisposition.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Two (2) years journey-level dieselor heavy equipment maintenance/repair experience Two (2) years automotivemaintenance/repair experience Two (2) years heavy duty transit busrepair maintenance/repair Special Certifications and Licenses
Ability to obtain a Florida Class BCommercial Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger Transport Endorsementwithin 90 days of employment NecessaryRequirements: Willingness to followchain-of-command Availability to workvarying shifts/operation as assigned by the manager (days, afternoons,nights, weekends, and holidays). Ability to report tomultiple work locations as needed. These include the SunTran MaintenanceFacility, the Downtown Station, and other SunTran service areas.
