Base Pay Range $16.00/hr - $16.00/hr
Press Operator Position Overview The press operator is responsible for operating all of the equipment in the area, troubleshooting equipment, and eliminating scrap, rework, and downtime. The role requires active participation in continuous improvement to promote safety, quality, and throughput. The operator trains lower‑level operators and may serve as a resource to others for solving complex problems.
Press Operator Essential Functions
Operate all machinery safely.
Run product at the desired rate.
Actively participate in continuous improvement to promote safety, quality, throughput, and the addition of new equipment.
Help set up changeovers and perform intermediate adjustments to ensure quality parts.
Train all lower‑level operators.
Inspect finished parts for gauge thickness, defects, and proper fit‑up.
Other duties as assigned.
Press Operator Required Experience
Previous experience as a machine operator.
Intermediate ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to handle physical, repetitive work and stand for 8‑12 hours a day.
Ability to read, follow detailed instructions, and understand English.
Ability to distinguish between part numbers and sizes.
Understanding and following quality policies and procedures.
Adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
Ability to read and work with blueprints and build or repair tooling and dies.
Ability to train, coordinate, and communicate effectively with all departments.
Able to troubleshoot and manipulate programs.
Press Operator Physical Demands and Work Environment
Moderate noise level.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Frequent lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.
Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
Regular standing for extended periods, walking, talking, and hearing.
Use of hand tools.
Reading applicable instructions.
