Setup Technician | Montague, MI
Salary Range:
$45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up manufacturing equipment and machinery for production runs.
Install, align, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and other components according to specifications.
Perform rapid equipment changeovers and line clearances to minimize downtime.
Conduct first-piece inspections and verify production readiness, ensuring quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues, making necessary adjustments to optimize machine performance.
Calibrate sensors, controls, and other machine parameters to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Document setup parameters, equipment settings, and any deviations or issues.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in machine setup, changeover, and adjustment in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic equipment issues.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and manufacturing quality standards.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with PLC programming or industrial automation systems.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting technical drawings or minor design modifications.
Background in tool and die making or precision machining.
