Compensation:
$20–23/hr DOE
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 2:30pm–11pm

What You’ll Do As a Machinist, you will machine metal parts using lathes, mills, and manual and/or CNC machines. Machinist 1 candidates will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment under supervision, reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and performing basic machine maintenance to ensure quality and accuracy.

The Must-Haves
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to measure parts to meet acceptable tolerances
Understanding of machining and manufacturing processes
Experience with conventional lathes and mills
Experience deburring, measuring, and packaging parts
Proper use of machining tools and safety equipment
High School Diploma or GED
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure all projects meet GEM Equipment quality standards
Operate CNC and/or manual machines with supervision
Load, save, and manage CNC programs
Adjust offsets to maintain part tolerances
Change and set up tooling as required
Monitor and maintain machine fluid levels
Complete required paperwork and job documentation
Prepare requisition slips for materials not listed on job orders
Load and unload parts efficiently
Assist with training new employees when needed
Safely operate a forklift
Maintain a clean and organized work area; sweep after each shift
Possess and maintain your own precision tools
Wear required PPE at all times (steel-toed boots, safety glasses)
Expectations
Follow instructions accurately and work independently when required
Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship
Display a positive attitude and strong willingness to learn
Ability to manage multiple tasks and operate more than one machine when needed
Communicate clearly with supervisors
Maintain a strong safety record
Be punctual with reliable attendance
Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred (Not Required)
Vocational or technical training in Machining, Precision Manufacturing, or CNC
Forklift certification or OSHA 10/30
Experience with Mastercam or full CNC programming
