The

Assembly Technician 1

is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical switchboard and related equipment according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role involves reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics, using hand and power tools, and ensuring proper component installation. The assembler must follow safety procedures, maintain an organized workspace, and collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble switchboard components, including circuit breakers, bus bars, and control panels.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

Wire electrical components according to specifications.

Perform quality checks and testing to ensure functionality and compliance.

Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.

Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Complete assigned job duties within goal hours.

Follow additional written and verbal instructions as necessary.

Required Skills & Abilities

Excellent hand-eye coordination with good eyesight, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors

Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, assembly prints

Hold measurements to specific tolerance

Knowledge of fractions and decimals

Able to use tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.

Use power and hand tools

Minimum Education High School

Minimum Years of Experience 0-2

Education & Experience

High School diploma or equivalent

Two years’ experience in a production environment preferred

Basic understanding of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Tow Motor and Overhead Crane Experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of standing

Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.

Ability to work safely and effectively in a production environment
