Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Compensation and Bonuses

Hourly Pay: $26.00 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained (up to $700)

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign‑On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Shift: Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred.

Basic tools required.

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance and brake/tire work.

Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience preferred.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Pass a Ryder drug test.

Pass a DOT physical.

Pass a Ryder road test.

Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.

Perform standard maintenance, component inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostics computer when applicable.

Identify root causes of basic failures and perform required repairs.

Replace defective components as instructed.

Perform facility maintenance duties.

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.

Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation.

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).

Perform other support duties as required, such as Service Island support.
